BUTTON MASHER
Jake Silverman, also known as Button Masher, is a GRAMMY-winning arranger, electronic musician, composer and educator. In 2018, Silverman began to experiment with combining Jazz Fusion with chiptune. Since that time, Silverman’s genre bending music has garnered popularity with jazz lovers and video games fans from all over the world. He received the 2021 GRAMMY Award for Best Arrangement: Instrumental or A Cappella for his and Charlie Rosen’s arrangement of “Meta Knight’s Revenge” as recorded by the 8-Bit Big Band. In 2024 he was nominated for a second GRAMMY for his work with Charlie Rosen on their arrangement of “The Last Surprise” in the category of Best Arrangement: Instruments and Vocals. Button Masher can be heard with notable artists such as Phoenix, The 8-Bit Big Band, Evan Marien, Adam Neely, Sungazer, Andrew Huang, Dj Cutman, and many more.

TURNABOUT PLAYERS
Turnabout Players is a Video Game Music band from Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina. They collectively arrange versions of the VGM songbook with danceable grooves, creative cross-genre references, and fiery solos.
Turnabout Players is comprised of keyboardist Bao Vuong (Ro Panuganti’s Prog XP), saxophonist Eliot Wernlund (The One Ups, 8 Bit Disaster), guitarist Dejuan Gailed (8 Bit Disaster), bassist TJ Richardson (Carolina Jazz Ensemble, composer for Too Much Tomato games), and drummer Joe MacPhail (Sleepycat Records, The Mountain Goats, XOXOK).
Notable performances include MagFest 2026, AAPI Festival 2025, Mario Kart Live, and the wedding reception of an Epic Games employee. Turnabout Players are the founders of the NC VGM Jam, a monthly Video Game Music jam session that has been ongoing since 2023. The NC VGM Jam has attracted a local musicians community who are hungry for more, and who are in the process of starting a second chapter of the NC VGM Jams.
