Join us for an engaging reading of the popular children’s book, “The Monarch Butterfly and Olivia” read by author Elaine Kiklis herself! Just in time for Earth Day, this beautifully illustrated and educational book will inspire children to care for and protect the creatures that we share our home with! Weather permitting, we’ll read the book right next to our Children’s Garden and Pollinator Garden – where we may just see some beautiful butterflies! After the story, children and their caregivers will be invited make a butterfly craft and plant their very own pollinator plant! Children will be able to take their plant home where they can watch it grow and eventually put it outside for butterflies and other pollinators to enjoy. A limited number of copies of The Monarch Butterfly and Olivia will be available for purchase. Don’t forget to get it signed before you leave!About author Elaine Kiklis:
A long-time resident of the South Shore, Elaine Kiklis lives in scituate, Massachusetts. She has been writing entertaining books for children with lessons of kindness throughout her stories. She hopes that The Monarch Butterfly and Olivia is a story children will learn from.
Elaine’s passion for the monarch butterfly and her hope for its future can be read in each page of the story. She has spent countless hours learning about the pollinator and has enlisted the help of the Monarch Join Venture Council.
This program is perfect for kids ages 5-8.
