Des mélodies envoûtantes, une narration poignante et un dialogue subtil entre traditions orientales et occidentales façonnent le sublime concerto pour violon « Les Amants papillons ». Inspirée par une légende d’amants maudits, cette œuvre emblématique du répertoire chinois déploie une richesse orchestrale vibrante. L’Orchestre FILMharmonique, sous la direction de Francis Choinière, mettant en lumière le violoniste Guillaume Villeneuve, révélera toute la profondeur de cette partition, pour une soirée où l’émotion et la virtuosité se rencontreront.
Le programme comprend également la première mondiale du Concerto pour Pipa et Orchestre « Dragon » du compositeur québécois Christian Thomas, interprété par la célèbre joueuse de pipa Liu Fang. L'une des joueuses de pipa les plus renommées au monde, Liu Fang, a été décrite comme « l'impératrice du pipa » (L'actualité) et « une ambassadrice de la musique chinoise, mais surtout une ambassadrice de l'âme et de la spiritualité musicale » (La Scena Musicale).

Enchanting melodies, a poignant narrative, and a subtle dialogue between Eastern and Western traditions shape the sublime Butterfly Lovers’ Violin Concerto. Inspired by a legend of star-crossed lovers, this iconic work from the Chinese repertoire unfolds with vibrant orchestral richness. The FILMharmonique Orchestra, under the baton of Francis Choinière, featuring violinist Guillaume Villeneuve, will bring out the full depth of this score for an evening where emotion meets virtuosity.
The program will also feature the world-premiere of Concerto for Pipa and Orchestra "Dragon" by Quebecois composer Christian Thomas, performed by renowned pipa player Liu Fang. One of the most prominent pipa players in the world, she has been described as the "empress of pipa" (L'actualité) and “an ambassador of Chinese music, but above all an ambassador of soul and musical spirituality” (La Scena Musicale).
