SLOWBEARD
Canberra hard rock trio ‘SLOWBEARD’ are back to delivering fuzzy, guitar-driven stoner rock fused with a tendency for musical experimentation involving a whole lot of cowbell, interesting vocal effects and tripped out guitar and bass sounds.
SLOWBEARD’s reputation for high energy live performances continues to grow with the last 12 months including a number of interstate shows plus supporting sets in Canberra for heavy hitting touring acts such as Dozer (Sweden), Dead City Ruins (Melbourne), Deville (Sweden) and Osaka Punch (Brisbane).
MATRIARCH
Canberra's grand dames of femme punk, Matriarch, are stoked to be back at Smith's to debut their new line up with the amazing Cath Cook on the lead vocals. Matriarch are a unique band in the Australian music scene that blend the creative juices of 4 older, diverse women with a shared love of gutsy, political and poignant punk music.
Building on their 2 EPs, an east coast tour, radio play around the country, and some stirring performances at political rallies, Matriarch are excited to be starting their next musical chapter with Cath who brings gutsy vocals, powerful stage presence and some fine drumming chops to the band.
