Business Growth Workshop

Hosted in collaboration with Patch and City of York Council, we welcome you to join this interactive and practical session where you will network, learn, and connect with fellow SME leaders.

The session will be held in the Academy within Patch York.

This session is an opportunity for you to learn more about the Help to Grow: Management Course, take part in an interactive taster activity, meet alumni and learn about their experiences on the course and the impact it has had on their business.

During the session, you'll take part in a practical exercise based on a real framework used on the Help to Grow course. Working alongside fellow business leaders, you'll gain valuable insights, share experiences, and leave with tangible actions and ideas you can apply to your own business.

What is the Help to Grow: Management Course?

Help to Grow is 90% funded by the government and is open to senior leaders in small and medium businesses from any sector who:

• have been operating for more than 1 year
• have between 5 to 249 employees
• due to government eligibility criteria, charities are not eligible for this programme

This 12-week programme is delivered by Leeds University Business School and accredited by the Small Business Charter. The programme combines a practical curriculum, with 1:1 support from a business mentor, peer-learning sessions and an alumni network.

Designed to be manageable alongside full-time work, this programme will support you to develop your strategic skills with key modules covering financial management, innovation and digital adoption. By the end of the programme, you will develop a tailored business growth plan to lead your business to its full potential.

This session will be led by Rebecca Padgett, Executive Education Academic Programme Director and facilitator. Rebecca has facilitated on six of our Help to Grow cohorts so far and is our subject specialist for our Developing a Marketing Strategy module.
