Patrice Caster, CEM, TEM, MCP

Emergency Management Coordinator

The University of Texas System

Patrice Caster began her emergency management career at the Texas Division of Emergency Management more than 15 years ago and began working in the continuity field while employed at the Travis County Office of Emergency Management prior to coming to the University of Texas System in 2013. At UT System, she manages the continuity program for System Administration as well as supports the 14 UT institutions with their continuity plans and programs.

She holds the FEMA Master Continuity Professional certification and serves as the UT System representative on the State Continuity Council.


Derek Trabon, MHA

Director of Emergency Management

University of Texas at Austin

Derek Trabon is the Director of Emergency Management at The University of Texas at Austin where he oversees emergency management and business continuity for the institution. His professional experience is based in higher education, healthcare, research, and military.


Megan Levy, MIPM, CBCP, CRMP

Manager, Business Resilience

Texas Mutual Insurance

Megan is a business continuity and emergency management professional with over 14 years of experience in developing resiliency at a broad range of organizations, including Microsoft, King County Emergency Management, and the University of Washington, before moving to Austin to build the continuity program at Texas Mutual. In her current role she oversees strategy and implementation of the business resilience program, including continuity, incident response, disaster recovery, vendor risk management, and employee safety.

Megan has a master’s degree in infrastructure planning and management, from the University of Washington, and holds Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) and Certified Business Continuity Professional (CRMP) certifications.
