Our Level 2 weekend bushcraft course, provides an in-depth introduction to bushcraft. The developed Level 2 aligned course covers all of the necessary skills that are required in order to really excel within the bushcraft world, allowing you, and giving you the confidence to take accredited bushcraft assessments.All courses are held at our bushcraft training centre, set within 1500 acres of private woodland. We will supply all of the tools that are required for this course, so all you'll need to do is bring along yourself, and some basic items from the kit-list that is sent out after booking.
This course is perfect for beginners or those uncertain about their bushcraft and survival skills training. We pride ourselves on providing relaxed but dynamic courses that are each tailored to the groups needs and requirements. Our aim is to make you as comfortable as possible, making you want to come and see us again.
This is no "Bushtucker trial". We will teach you how bushcraft isn't about struggling to survive. Bushcraft for is about living comfortably within and alongside nature. Even though we will teach you to be comfortable, you will be taken out of your comfort zone at various points throughout the weekend. This course is suitable for people of all ages who are wanting to try something new.
As with all of our weekend courses, this is a fully catered event, meaning you won't have to worry about providing your own meals. You will receive lunch and an evening meal on Saturday, breakfast and a light lunch before we end on Sunday. If you would like anything extra in-between, then please feel free to bring your own snacks along with you.
The weekend course will start at 09:00am on Saturday morning, but we are happy to have you arrive the night before should this suit you better - please contact us after booking if this is what you want to do.
When you arrive, we will begin with introductions and a safety brief, before getting stuck in straight away.
Over the weekend, we will cover a wide range of skills. Our hands on practical approach to our courses will ensure that you will have plenty of time to really practice and "get into" all elements. Some of the skills we will cover are:
Fire lighting
Axe and knife skills
Shelter building
Traps and snares
Game preparation (rabbit, fish or pigeon depending on availability)
Campfire cooking
Safe tool use
Water sourcing and filtration
Natural cord making
Tool care and knife law
This weekend bushcraft course is designed around you, making sure that you get the most out of your experience with us. Our instructors will be around all weekend, and are more than happy to answer any questions that you may have, or to offer advice. Our purposefully small groups make sure that you'll receive quality tuition at all times.
