🌲 Bushcraft Basic course🌲

Forêt Acadienne School of Bushcraft is excited to offer our Bushcraft Basic course — the perfect starting point for anyone curious about learning outdoor living skills.

This two-day course covers the foundations of bushcraft and survival, designed for those with no prior experience.

Basic is not synonymous with easy. It represents the foundational principles that everything else is built upon. This course focuses on those essentials, designed to elevate your outdoor training and push you further than you would likely go on your own. Participants should be prepared for sustained physical effort, including hiking approximately 5 to 10 kms while carrying a full load of personal gear (around 35 lbs+), as well as additional materials for hands-on projects—most of which will be sourced directly from the surrounding environment.

Participants will complete multiple timed exercises, working both solo and in team settings. Every requirement is structured to strengthen self-reliance. If you continue to push forward, we will continue to support you.

Together, we’ll explore:

🔥 The survival priorities you need to know in the wilderness;
🔥 Fire making techniques, from spark to flame;
🔪 Basic carving skills for practical tools and projects;
🏕️ Shelter making and simple campcraft;
⛑️ Creatings signals to maximize visibility;
🍁And much more!

This is a hands-on, course meant to give you the confidence to enjoy and connect with the outdoors in a whole new way.

* In order to pass this course, you'll need to spend the night in a survival shelter that you build. *

* You must be 13 yrs or older to attend this class. Any student under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult registered with that class. *

If this course looks too "intense", Intro to Bushcraft course follows the same curriculum, but is taught in a low intensity setting.
