About this Event

Join American music masters Sam Bush, Mike Marshall, and Edgar Meyer, together with George Meyer, for a special collaborative concert event. Expect to hear works from their genre-bending Short Trip Home album as well as new music written specifically for this tour.

* This is a free concert event; advance tickets are required for admission. Patrons two years and older must have a ticket.

Doors: 7:00 p.m.

Show: 8:00 p.m.

Directions: Ingram Hall is located inside the Blair School of Music, 2400 Blakemore Ave., in Nashville, between 24th and 25th Ave. South. The entrance to Ingram Hall is on the north side of the Blair building, on Childrens Way.

Parking: Free parking is available at the Vanderbilt West Garage on Childrens Way, directly across from Ingram Hall.

About Sam Bush: A Grammy-winning multi-instrumentalist playing mandolin, fiddle, banjo, and guitar, Sam Bush is considered the “King of Newgrass” and is a four-time winner of Mandolin Player of the Year by the IBMA. Bush received the AMA Lifetime Achievement Award for Instrumentalist and his performances continue to be annual highlights of the festival circuit.

About Mike Marshall: At the forefront of acoustic music for more than three decades, Mike Marshall is a four-time Grammy nominee and a living legend of the mandolin. He made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 20 as a member of the legendary David Grisman Quartet and has developed his own eclectic style that combines classical, folk, jazz, and bluegrass.

About Edgar Meyer: A virtuoso double bassist of unrivaled creative range, Edgar Meyer has been awarded five Grammy Awards and stands as a giant of the instrument, effortlessly spanning genres from classical to jazz. Meyer had traveled the world performing with artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Béla Fleck, Joshua Bell, and Jerry Douglas. Along with Bush and Marshall, Edgar Meyer is a member of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival’s superstar house band. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Bass at Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music.

About George Meyer: The son of Edgar, violinist and composer George Meyer is charting his own course in the musical world and represents the next generation of artists expressing unique voices and perspectives. Meyer has performed his own compositions at such prestigious festivals as the RockyGrass Bluegrass Festival and the Savannah Music Festival.
