THE DETAILS: Burly Tuesday is back and this time our class choreography is vintage/classic with a sweet and romantic flair! Prepare to get frilly and flirty with a fun prop too-a lacy parasol! Parasol lends itself to all kinds of coquettish conceals and peekaboo play, much like fans or other bigger burly props do. And they have such a pretty, old timey aesthetic; perfect for a classic Valentine’s hit like “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole.
This group choreo has fun formations as well some individual parts and poses for each dancer to shine. It’s got a jazzy vibe, and a little bit off...tap dancing?! No worries, you don’t have to have any tap experience or tap shoes. But you’ll get to learn some soft-shoe basics that’ll give this routine it’s MGM movie musical signature! Whether you are a seasoned performer or brand spankin’ new, this is a multi level class has something for everyone.
CLASS BREAK-DOWN:
Class consists of a basic warm up, a break down of technique, and those techniques will get drilled as combinations. At the end of the eight week session, we’ll have a fully fleshed out dance routine you can perform onstage or for a loved one! And we always end class with a little lead-n-follow freestyle!
WHAT TO WEAR?
Class attire is anything you can comfortably move in and feel good! And while I love a sexy heel, we go barefoot or do a dance slipper or sneaker in the studio, in order to preserve the floor. For the floor work portions, you may want to bring knee pads. However, we won’t be on our knees for long. I will also bring in some parasols for us to practice with in class. We can order more to accommodate class as well

PRICING, LOCATION, MISC.
Class is open to a levels of dancer and all walks of adventurous, daring people! While a familiarity of dance vocabulary is always helpful, its not necessary as I always will break things down and offer any needed modifications or more advanced options. The 8 week session starts 12/2nd runs till 1/27th from 5:30-6:30. There is NO CLASS on 12/16th, as that is the Belly dance winter show case at Iron Smoke.
I know dance classes during the holiday season can be tricky. I expect that some of you won’t be able to make class 12/23rd or 12/30th. That’s understandable, just let me know ahead of time. We’ll have most of January and feb to rehearse this one, and it’s a pretty short song, so I’m not too worried.
Classes are located at Kinections Studio, 718 University Ave. Register the full session for $120 (that’s $15 a class) or drop in class to class for $20.
....AND PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY?!
This class also has an optional performance opportunity, as it will be a group dance featured in the upcoming fall Pretty Kitties Show, date 2/21st! If you are interested in performing it in that show-register for the full session and let me know by class 3, so that i can factor you into formations and featured sections.
