Are you interested in performing burlesque, but have no idea where to start? Perhaps you are already a performer looking to expand your knowledge, polish your craft, or brush up on some basics? Maybe you're interested in learning, but not necessarily looking for a stage? Grab your tassels, because this is the class for you!Our goal for this 8-week course is to help build your knowledge of burlesque history, current industry standards, recommend outlets for further discovery, and give you the building blocks to discover your own movement and style!
Each 90-minute class will begin with history and theory, and end with movement and choreography. We will learn how to perform basic moves while learning about the legends that did them first and the ethical ways we should keep doing them!
Your instructor on this journey will be Miss Love Lee. A 10-year veteran burlesque artist who has performed across the Midwest, she is also the founder and producer of the local burlesque troupe, The Kinky Cabaret.
Learn the "do's and don'ts" on how to bring your art to the stage from a decade worth of experience being on-stage, back-stage, and setting up the stage!
No experience necessary.
No walk-ins.
Students will need to make a profile with Springfield Aerial Fitness and sign waiver.
Classes will be Sundays from 5PM - 6:30PM beginning March 1st.
There will be a performance opportunity at the end of the course with an additional fee (to cover rehearsal studio time).
