Every Wednesday and Saturday, we will be holding Open Company Class before our rehearsals from January 8th - February 22nd, leading up to our first show of the year: The Love Show!

What to Expect
Level: Intermediate
Learn a mix of jazz and modern techniques focusing on deep conditioning and technique as well as center and across the floor vocabulary and skills. Teacher Miss Lady Legs has created a technique class with stage performance in mind, emphasizing:
- Alignment, Balance & Stability
- Core, Back, Ankle & Hip Strength
- Extensions
- Floorwork
- Turns & Leaps
- Musicality & Movement Quality
- Short, Technical Combinations with Intermediate/Advanced Vocabulary
We'll start with a warmup combining Horton, Lewitsky, floorwork and contemporary jazz techniques followed by a stretch. Then, we'll move into across the floor movement and floorwork. Finally, we'll work on skills like pirouettes, fouettes, leg-hold turns, axle jumps, leaps, and more!
Classes are 1 hour long and consist of a 25 - 35 minute warmup and technique, followed by 25 - 35 center and across the floor skills.
How Do I Know if I'm Intermediate?
You are at the right level for this class if you...
- Have 3+ years of recent, consistent dance training (with some dance training in your youth)
- You are currently taking dance/yoga/similar classes regularly
- You know the following vocabulary: plie, tendu, pirouette, develope, battement, chasse, pas de bourree
- You have some experience with jazz and/or modern dance
What to Wear?
Comfortable clothes you can easily move in, fitted preferred. We recommend wearing pants or leggings so you can execute floorwork comfortably.
You may want to bring knee pads.
Shoes: socks or jazz shoes are acceptable, you can bring a short heel if you are at an intermediate/advanced heel level

About Your Instructor
Miss Lady Legs began burlesque in 2019 and has performed for numerous Los Angeles productions as well as nationally in festivals and conventions. She is also a dance teacher with over a decade of experience.
Miss Lady Legs grew up doing competitive ballet with Romanian and Russian teachers in Southern California, competing in YAGP International Finals twice. She went on to study ballet and modern dance and choreography at Cornish College of the Arts where she began her teaching career at a local ballet studio and performing in local ballet and comtemporary companies in original works.
Miss Lady Legs went onto teach at various studios in Washington and California for programs ranging from recreational to competition to ballet-focused. She teaches lyrical, jazz, modern, contemporary, ballet, improvisation, choreography, pointe, pas de deux, and variations.
In 2024, she started teaching dance classes for burlesque performers and even taught at BurlyCon 2024.
She's so excited to bring her knowledge and experience with concert dance to the burlesque community!
