HEAUX-HEAUX-HEAUX, y’all!! Your favorite hometown NOLA-style jazz band is THRILLED to once again unleash our extensive supply of holiday cheer on the Best Big Little City anywhere! Cuz this isn’t just ANY (FREE!) holiday party! 🎄⚜️❤️💚❤️
So just what makes this (FREE!) show a annual holiday MUST-DO?? How often do you get to mambo with the Grinch? And tango with Santa 💃🏻🎅🏽, whose lap will be available throughout the night for photo ops 📸 with young and old, as well as taking down those toy orders, of course!🪆🚂🧸 And word is that we might (if we’re naughty! 😊) get a visit from a Krampus or two! (or twelve!) 👹
You will feast your eyes on Durham’s finest fashionistas strutting by in their one-of-a-kind holiday garb 🕺🏻🎩, while you have your late lunch of Blue Note Grill’s famous BBQ, or their awesome veggie burgers, like me! 🍖🍔🥗🍛🍨 And make sure to belly-up-to-the-bar with Santa’s (oh-so-debonair!) Rat Pack-era elf for a cold one, spiked or not! 🍺🍹🍾🥛
Everyone is also HIGHLY encouraged to wear some of those wild/wacky/shiny/sparkly/jingly clothes you thought you’d never get a chance to….or raid the tree! 🪩✨(tinsel garlands dress up EVERYTHING! Bonus points for light-up accessories!)
And, yes, the MUSIC!….holiday songs, classic AND more obscure, and many with our “enhanced” Durham-centric lyrics y’all have come to know and love! (with BS songbooks for all to sing along!) 🎷🥁🎺🪕💜💛💚
And last year the crafting was a HIT, so we’re bringing that back! 🪡 We PARTICULARLY love this (FREE!) show because most of our all-ages shows are outside in the summer heat, so this is a rare Strutters club show where the whole family can step away from the holiday craziness for an afternoon, and enjoy each other and this music that EVERYONE loves! 🥰
