Double bill with two wildly creative jazz bands with one goal – to transport you to a New Orleans corner bar’s holiday celebration, where everybody sings and dances.
Bulltown Strutters take the New Orleans brass band tradition, singalong vocals, colorful presentation, and add a dose of creative Durham community spirit. Equally at home on stage or leading a people’s second line parade, they have been uplifting audiences with joyful music since 2010.
Peter Lamb and the Wolves drag unexpected tunes into their own jazzy arrangements, producing an exciting improvisational romp through the classic and the wacky.
What to expect:
Holiday favorites, sometimes warped by new lyrics to enhance the celebration;
Reeds and brass ranging from a “Wall of Sound” to intimate solos;
Vocalists who will get you singing;
Visits from the Grinch and Sidney Claus (Santa’s down & out cousin).
