Please join us at at Grieg Lodge on Saturday, May 4th at 3 p.m. for an afternoon with Dana Johnson, documentary filmmaker. Dana will be showing her short documentary, “Built With Love” about Norwegian wooden boat building. Dana traveled to Norway to produce this documentary for Minnesota Public Broadcasting. Dana will also be showing a clip from her upcoming documentary on Norwegian Constitution Day (May 17) celebrations that was filmed in 2023 in Norway.Dana studied filmmaking at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. She’s directed and produced several popular film festival selections such as Maya Bdeg'a (2018), Fire & Light (2017), Adventure Unknown (2016), and Xenos (2015). She's won 23 Midwest Emmy awards and a Golden Bell Award (Campana del Oro) for Movistar's commercial Lost in Montevideo (2016). Residing in rural Minnesota, Dana enjoys making cultural documentaries for underserved regions at a local PBS station.
