About
The ASETT-H@W&L Social Economy Road Show (May 25–31, 2026) focuses on connecting with regional stakeholders, sharing knowledge, and identifying opportunities for collaboration and joint action. These exchanges will inform future initiatives and contribute to the upcoming Arizmendiarrieta Social Economy Think Tank (ASETT) Forum in November in San Sebastián.
The Humanity At Work & Life (H@W&L) and ASETT are deeply integrated initiatives that aim to grow the social and solidarity economy and the Mondragón cooperative model by sharing inspiring stories of innovative policies and practices across different regions.
Arizmendiarrieta Social Economy Think Tank (ASETT) – promotes dialogue and collaboration to strengthen the role of enterprises in advancing social and economic development. ASETT serves as a cutting-edge hub dedicated to driving inclusion and real social transformation for a fairer economy that prioritizes people over profit. With deep European roots and headquarters in the Basque Country, their mission is to generate knowledge, connect global networks, and contribute to social transformation through business.
The hub is designed as a laboratory to promote, connect, and spur action towards more equitable, sustainable, and democratic productive enterprises, ecosystems, policies, and practices. International Advisory Partners include the International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations (UN) and UNDP, OECD, European Parliament, Oxfam Intermón, International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and Social Economy Europe. ASETT's Call to Action serves as a unifying document signed by over 3,000 researchers from 750 universities globally, advocating for the democratization and decarbonization of work.
Humanity @ Work & Life (H@W&L) is a series of books co-edited by Christina Clamp and Michael Peck. The books explore the Mondragón cooperative model as a template for worker-owned businesses globally, offering practical guidance for creating more equitable economies. H@W&L highlights social and solidarity economy ideas, missions, and projects while looking ahead to emerging challenges and demonstrating how solidarity, innovation, and democratic governance create sustainable impact for the common good, locally and globally.
Volume one Humanity@Work&Life – Global Diffusion of the Mondragón Cooperative Ecosystem Experience, represents the collective labor and vision of 38 contributors in six countries on three continents. It highlights how the Mondragón cooperatives serve as a powerful source of inspiration and a practical model for growing new worker cooperatives and strengthening communities. Volume two Humanity@Work&Life – New Directions For The Social Economy, has 44 contributors and co-developers from seven countries on three continents. It explores the Mondragon cooperatives’ ecosystem and how cooperatives can effectively use “indivisible reserves” to prepare for future challenges, including immigration, armed conflict, and peacebuilding.
