Building Homes & Hope

Habitat for Humanity was started by a grassroots effort on a south Georgia farm back in 1976 with a dream. A dream and conviction that everyone needs a decent place to live. From humble beginnings to an international program serving over 26 million families, Habitat for Humanity provides a “hand up, not a hand out” for those in our own community. Explore with us as we learn more about Habitat in our communities. Hear the answers to the burning questions we all have: What does Habitat do in Fannin & Gilmer Counties? Do we give away homes to families in need? How do we fund these efforts, Where does the money come from? Who builds these homes? Are these homes affordable? What is a ReStore and what is its purpose? Hear firsthand from families as they share how Habitat’s work has helped your neighbors build a home of their own or stay in the home they already know and love.
