Leeds Debt and Poverty Forum invite you to join us for Building Financial Resilience in Digital Times.
Do you work in the third sector and want to learn about what is really going on in Leeds when it comes to money/debt/poverty? Digital technology is being used more and more to collect debt as well as managing money. This in-person event is all about, real talk, and will help identify resources and tools to help people build strong financial resilience. We will also take a look at the toll it takes on people who are helping those who need it most. Meet colleagues in the sector, learn from pros, and get inspired to identify ways of helping people take control of their digital financial future, as well as identifying and addressing the emotional resilience needed by frontline staff delivering those vital services to those in need.

Info: Our agenda is currently in draft, and is subject to change. However, to give you an idea on what to expect, here is a list of what we have planned: Our Chair for the day will be Peter Gruen -1. The Lord Mayor will open the event, followed by Councillor Asghar Khan; 2. What is really happening in Leeds - lets look at the stats; 3. Young people and debt (what is it like for them?); 4. The impact on people Not in Education, Employment or Training; 5. Digital challenges and digital resilience when it comes to dealing with any kind of debt; 6. Emotional Resilience for people who work in the charity sector, helping people who need us most. We will wrap up with an Action Plan and closing speech. There will be five breakout sessions: 1. Young People and Young Parents; 2. Digital Resilience; 3. Resilience for people not in education, employment or training; 4. Emotional Resilience -sharing experiences, guidance and tips and 5. Illegal Loan sharks. We will end with an Action Plan.
