About this Event
Building (Explainable) Trust for Emerging Quantum Telecommunications using Principles Based Assurance (Claims Arguments Evidence)
Join us at the Fry Building School of Mathematics on June 17, 2026 at 4:30 PM (BST) for a guest lecture exploring how to build trust in the exciting world of quantum telecommunications. Led by researchers from the BT QAssure programme, Maria Aslam, Research Associate of Systems Engineering & Zoe Davidson, Specialist Research Professional at BT in Optical Networks and Quantum, this joint talk sets out BT’s challenge as an operator —assuring a system that is both classical and quantum, engineered and probabilistic, open and dynamic—and then shows how the innovations developed through the QAssure project has developed an approach for the assurance of quantum communications, and in the process developed a pattern that can be applied for evaluating trust in telecommunication systems in general.
