Building Capacity for Hope-As-Action
About this Event
The goal for this session is for us to be more resourced to carry the weight of our caring by reconnecting with what is true for and sustains each of us. In a culture that asks us to do more and do it faster, regardless of the emotional weight of the context, it's often difficult to find space to pause, name what we're experiencing, and access practices and strategies that both honor these feelings and help us move through them to a place of strength and possibility.
Over the course of the afternoon, we will facilitate an intentional progression of Work That Reconnects teachings and practices that integrate deep ecology, systems thinking, engaged Buddhism, and indigenous wisdom traditions to empower us to be able to both hold our pain for the world and move through it towards wise action.
By slowing down, reconnecting to our bodies, and using our imaginations to connect with future generations, we will gift ourselves the time and space to connect anew with the truths alive in each of us.
Facilitators
Hanna Jertz (she/her) and Rebecca Sampson (she/her) both found their way to facilitation through careers in sustainability, recognizing how fundamental our inner and interpersonal capacities are to doing this important and complex work well. They have both trained in the Art of Hosting and the Work That Reconnects, and together bring additional skills and experience related to various fields, including coaching, anti-oppression and liberation work, entrepreneurship, permaculture, systems thinking, and social, climate and imagination activism. An intergenerational duo, both carry a developed sense of intercultural awareness borne from their bicultural identities. As science-loving animists, they are ignited by what becomes possible when we recognize our inseparability from the living world.
