ASK THE ATTORNEY: LIFE PLANNING
Emily Kile, Esq., Kile Law Firm
Families, Caregivers, Self Advocates and Individuals with Neurodiversities have lots of legal questions in the areas of guardianship, conservatorship, special needs trusts, supported decision making, and public benefits. This session provides a chance for participants to ask about these options and learn how to plan for the future of your loved ones with disabilities.
EMPOWERING ALLIES: WHAT AUTISM PROVIDERS NEED TO KNOW FOR SURVIVING AUDITS
Ann Monahan, HONORIS Group
Changes are continuous and rules are ambiguous but one thing remains certainโ€ฆif you provide autism services, audits will come to your organization! This session is designed to support Provider Agencies and Organizations in navigating AHCCCS, DDD & DES audits and oversight for success. You will learn audit types (and there are more than you think!), standards, whoโ€™s who in the auditing world, real life examples, what can and CANNOT happen, and how to prepare for the unexpected and unscheduled surprise site visit from AHCCCS representatives.
MYTH BUSTING DISABILITY BENEFIT MISINFORMATION!
Gina Griffiths, MSW, Nicholas Love, World Institute on Disability
Lack of information and misinformation on how benefits and employment interact lead to uninformed decisions. This session will bust the myths and show you how to use Arizona Disability Benefits 101 (DB101) to access information to support informed decision making for yourselves, your loved ones, or clients you support. Accurate information on health coverage and disability benefits is key for people who have disabilities when making career decisions. AZ DB101 is an online tool that can help navigate benefits and employment when making career decisions. DB101 provides information on employment and career planning, health coverage, and disability benefits.

Nia Ulenhake, April Jones, Katie Martinez, AZA United
The Parent Provider Program is permanently available now to parents of minor children. Learn if you may qualify for this opportunity to support your child. This session will include information on how to qualify to receive these services, how the services are assessed, what requirements a parent must meet including required trainings, how to connect with a reputable qualified vendor, information on pay structures including information on the Difficulty of Care Act, with time to answer your questions.
TEEN TRANSITION TO ADULTHOOD: WHAT TO KNOW FOR IEP/ITP PLANNING
Victoria Ikerd-Schreiter, Esq., Ikerd-Schreiter Law
The law requires that students receiving special education be provided services to help them make a successful transition from high school to life post high school. This session will review the laws regarding this critical transition period, the Individual Transition Plan (ITP) process, the difference between a DIPLOMA and a CERTIFICATE, and types of assessments for establishing goals in the areas of Post-Secondary Education, Vocational Training, Integrated Employment, and Independent Living.
FUNDING A SPECIAL NEEDS TRUST
Karen Starbowski, CLU, ChSNC, MassMutual
Special Needs Trusts allow caregivers a way to provide for their dependent with special needโ€™s care and quality of life, without disqualifying them for federal assistance. The money in the trust can help to supplement standard services and benefits provided by government agencies. Weโ€™ll discuss different types of special needs trusts and various options to fund a special needs trust.
NAVIGATING AHCCCS BEHAVIOR HEALTH SERVICE DELIVERY SYSTEM
Diana Davis-Wilson, DBH, LBA, BCBA, Aspen Behavioral Consulting, David Jefferson, Parent Support Arizona
Participants will learn expert tips to assist AHCCCS Members in accessing the essential supports and services, precisely when needed.
