About this Event
Wednesday 13 May | 6:00pm–6:45pm | Belfast
Join HASSL for a powerful and thought-provoking workshop exploring the invisible mental load women carry around safety and why creating a safer world must become a shared responsibility.
This is not a conversation only for women. Men are especially encouraged to attend and be part of the discussion.
HASSL is a rapidly growing, prevention-led social enterprise tackling the root causes of violence against women through behaviour change, education and strategic partnerships. Its mission is to shift responsibility away from women as individuals having to “stay safe” and towards society as a whole, actively inviting men to be part of the solution.
In just 18 months, HASSL has built a global movement with 700,000+ followers.
This interactive session will explore the everyday mental load women carry around personal safety, the role men can play in prevention and cultural change, why behaviour change and accountability matter, how safer workplaces, communities and everyday interactions can be built collectively, and practical tools and mindset shifts people can begin implementing immediately.
The aim of this event is not blame or division, but conversation, understanding and collective action. Everyone has a role to play in building safer communities, and meaningful change happens when people are willing to listen, reflect and engage openly.
Hosted in partnership with Voicing the Void Belfast, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering marginalised groups to find and share their stories.
This event is supported by Belfast City Council Community Recovery Fund.
