About this Event
Attention: Creepy, Spooky Skeletons; Girls, Ghouls and Gays; Haunted Homos and Evil Gays; Lovers of all things horror; Anyone with any ounce of creativity in their body (cough cough, everyone, cough cough);
WE ARE HOLDING A BUILD-A-SCARE(BEAR) WORKSHOP THIS OCTOBER!!!!
Looking for something cool, unique and fun to do with your friends? Want a fun date night activity? Just want to do something creative on your own? Look no further - this event is for E V E R Y O N E.
No art skills needed; No training needed; All you need is an interest and openness to ripping up a teddy bear and creating something new, and maybe a little twisted. Bonus points if you love creepy, weird and scary stuff.
What to Expect:
-Welcoming everyone - we will start about 15 mins after 6 PM to allow folks running late to join as well. This will also give you a chance to get to see the amazing Earth In Sky space - this space is filled with all sorts of cozy corners, comfy spaces, tarot decks, trinkets and offerings.
1) You will pick your bear - these will be provided and are included in the cost, but if you have your own teddy bear you would like to work with, you are more than welcome to bring your own and work with that.
2) An Idea - as a group, we will be setting an intention of what we would like to inspire our bear; maybe its creepy and cute vibes, maybe its, something gross, maybe its a twisted mirror to my soul - the choice is yours, this is YOUR journey.
3) Cutting and crafts - this can really look like whatever you want it to ; we will supply a huge range of cool art supplies that you are more than welcome to use for your bear. This will include things like, eyes, teeth, fake blood, scissors to make cuts and tears where you see fit, and so much more.
4) SHOW AND TELL <3 - this part is totally optional; if you're open to it, we will gather to share our creations, maybe name our new friends, and appreciate eachother's creative process and outcomes.
Everything is an invitation; you never have to do anything that does not feel right for you. If you just want to hangout in the space and draw, you are more than welcome to. If you want to take supplies home instead of making on the day, that is totally okay too!
Accessibility:
-washroom is gender neutral
-there are approximately 4 steps to get into the building
-we will have chair and floor seating options ; chair seating is available for anyone who wants or needs it
-there are light scents in the space (ie. incense)
Tea and snacks will be available ; food is an important part of coming together as a community and sharing space, and we want to continue to honour that in this practice. There is something magical about having a keke with like-minded folks in a magical setting.

Info: This part is super duper optional ; there will be an invitation and opportunity to share our creations. There will also be space to share name and details of your bear, if you would like. Folks can skip out of this part if it does not feel comfy for them.
