About this Event
Many graduate students complete exciting research but do not have an easy way to share their work online. In this hands-on studio, you will quickly build a simple research website using GitHub Pages to showcase your projects, publications, and code.
We will walk through how academic websites work, why they matter for visibility, collaboration, and job searches, and how they help others discover your work. Participants will then deploy a basic website using a prebuilt GitHub Pages template and customize it with their own content.
By the end of the session, you will have a working personal research website with sections for your research interests, projects, publications, and contact information, along with guidance on organizing and maintaining your site over time. We will also briefly introduce Quarto as an option for creating more advanced, data-driven or notebook-based research websites.
No prior web development or Git/GitHub experience is required. Participants should bring a laptop. Snacks will be provided.
