About this Event

Join Ethiopique for the official launch of BUHE, a new community initiative created to support practical information, shared learning, and future planning in the Ethiopian and Eritrean community.

This event will introduce the purpose of BUHE, the story behind the name, and the role founding members can play as the initiative begins.

BUHE is inspired by the Ethiopian tradition of lighting torches and sharing light with others. In that same spirit, this gathering is about bringing people together, starting a new conversation, and building a path forward as a community.

This is where we light the first torch.

The gathering will take place at the M&T Bank Executive Office in downtown Washington, D.C. Full address and directions are listed above.

Important Arrival Note

Please arrive on time. Guest arrival and networking begin at 5:30 PM, and the formal program will begin promptly at 5:50 PM.

Because this event is being held at the M&T Bank Executive Office, entry requires coordination with building access and elevator access. After the program begins, late entry and seating may not be guaranteed, and staff may not be available to accompany late arriving guests to the event space.

Parking may be limited or unavailable near the venue. Guests are strongly encouraged to plan ahead, use Metro or bus when possible, or reserve parking in advance through parking apps such as SpotHero.

Please allow extra time for travel, parking, building entry, and elevator access.
