About this Event
To kick off Bat Week, Bat Conservation International will lead this ride on Friday, October 25 from 5:30 - 7:00 PM to Mission San Jose to discuss bat-friendly gardening and visit bat houses at Concepcion Park. We’ll also check out the bat garden on the Mission Reach and use a Wildlife Acoustic Echo Meter to identify Texas bat species through their echolocation calls. The ride ends at the San Antonio River Foundation’s Cochineala: Haunted Halloween Festival at Confluence Park. Riders can stay for the event or ride back to Mission Concepcion with BCycle staff.
Riders meet at 5:00 PM at the BCycle station at Mission Concepcion for a BCycle 101 orientation. Wheels down at 5:30 PM!

Bugs, Bikes, & Botany: Nature Adventure Kit Program is a unique initiative for families, presented by the San Antonio River Foundation and San Antonio BCycle, and made possible through a grant from PeopleForBikes and the Better Bike Share Partnership. This program aims to introduce our city’s public bikeshare system to a broader audience while encouraging families to explore the natural beauty of the Historic Mission Reach.
