About this Event
What is the Buffalo Humanities Festival? An annual celebration of ideas, art, and activities featuring talks and panel discussions by scholars, artists, and community activists designed to provoke thought, spur new encounters, and introduce you to new friends in our city. Join us for Hauntings.
History, literature, and art are full of figures and stories that, for a variety of reasons, have not made it into mainstream conversations. Haunting is a term scholars use to illuminate historical material that is repressed, unresolved, or simply forgotten, but which is still lurking at the margins, waiting to be acknowledged and made present. What happens when we make the margins the center and open the door to new stories and histories?
