About this Event

Skip the box of chocolates and candlelit dinner, we have something far more romantic for you this Valentine’s Day! Join us for a spellbinding stroll through Green-Wood, where love stories take on a darker, more dramatic twist. Uncover tales of forbidden passion, tragic farewells, and scandalous affairs that defied convention and fate.

On this walking tour, you’ll meet the ill-fated Victorian lovers Charlotte Canda and Charles Jarrett, learn how the Hall-Mills M**der went from true love to true crime, and hear the shocking details of Henry Ward Beecher’s affair with Elizabeth Tilton that rocked Brooklyn society. We’ll also share the heartbreaking story of Theodore Roosevelt’s wife, who tragically died on Valentine’s Day—the same day his mother passed away.

Let the passionate, tragic, and unforgettable tales of Green-Wood stir your imagination, and maybe even your heart.
