Budgeting 101 with Manōnīta — Know Your Numbers, Own Your Life

Manōnīta invites you to our very first event!!!
Budgeting 101 is a free, hands-on financial workshop for women in Brooklyn. In 2.5 hours, you will build a real, working budget using your own numbers — guided step by step, in an intentional room of 20 women doing the same.
This is not a lecture. This is a conversation.
What we'll cover:
✦ How to build a budget from scratch using your real income and expenses
✦ The 4 sections every working budget needs: Income, Fixed Expenses, Variable Expenses, and Savings Goals
✦ A special conversation on financial security for single women living in NYC — housing costs, emergency funds, building credit independently, and planning a future you're designing on your own terms
What to bring:
✦ Your monthly take-home income (a recent pay stub or a number you know)
✦ Your monthly rent or housing cost
✦ A rough sense of your regular bills: utilities, phone, subscriptions
✦ Any debt payments: student loans, credit cards, car payments
✦ A pen (we'll have extras)
✦ An open mind — no prior financial knowledge required
You will never be asked to share your specific numbers publicly. What you write is yours.
