About this Event
Are you an artist preparing to apply for grant funding?
In this workshop, participants will learn:
- Fundamentals of creating meaningful project budgets;
- Best-practices;
- How to categorize income and expenses;
- How to align a budget to a proposal narrative.
Whether this is your first time creating a budget or you’re looking to refine an existing one, Oakland-based musician and grant-supported artist Suki O’Kane will provide practical guidance so you leave with a clearer understanding of how to approach budgets for grant applications.
Oakland-based musician, composer, improviser and instigator, Suki O’Kane works with artists from a wide array of music, movement, expanded cinema and public art genres. She is a student of monumental and durational forms, combining Jurassic electronics, everyday objects and found sounds to create noisy, hand held miniatures. Suki also serves as an Administrator with the Walter & Elise Haas Fund, honing her craft in nonprofit finance for the good of the Fund and in partnership with Fund grantees and grantseekers.
NOTE: Attendees are highly encouraged to bring work-in-progress budgets. Budget templates are available on the InterMusic SF website
