Buckman Journal Launch Party!
About this Event
Buckman Journal, an anthology of Portland's artists and writers, returns with its sixteenth installment! In celebration of this cyclic, cruciferous, and cosmic issue, Buckman Publishing will be hosting an afternoon reception at the soon-to-be-opened PALS (Portland Arts & Literary Society building!) located at 1452 NE 28th Ave. 97232. Join us from 3-6pm on Sunday, July 19th to revel with drinks, snacks, crafts, and cake! BONUS: an early look at the new Up Up Books, Yikes! Gallery, and deluxe copies of Shed for sale.
This is a casual, open-house style event, so feel free to stop by, roll through, or hang out the whole time. It's an opportunity to meet and mingle with the journal contributors and the Buckman crew, peruse other books, and meet other literary and artistic folk. All are more than welcome!
Inside Buckman Journal: Shed you’ll find cross-sections of memory, a matter-of-fact modern fable, and a patch of forest so vacant that even a solitude-loving park ranger gets scared. An aspiring novelist goes to the opera, a citizen in a city of artists considers (im)mortality, and a photographer documents a complex farewell. Buckman Journal: Shed will introduce you to Dishwasher, show you the glory of the Library of God, let you become the gaze and the reflector.
