Bubur Lambuk Ikan Tenggiri - Ramadan Distribution @ The Blackbook Studio

In the spirit of this tradition, we will be distributing our much-loved Bubur Lambuk Ikan Tenggiri (spiced mackerel porridge) at two locations, joined by Chef Azfar Mazwan, who will be giving away a sweet treat, Bubur Sum Sum.
This bubur has a special place in our hearts as it's a recipe from our ancestors from Pulau Semakau. Bubur Lambuk is a spiced rice porridge typically made with beef or mutton and traditionally served by mosques during Iftar. However, for the islanders, the ikan tenggiri (mackerel), alongside other coral fishes, was the staple of our Bubur.

We are grateful to be able to give back to our community with our Bubur Lambuk distribution drive. Made with simple but hearty ingredients, we hope each bowl brings you a taste of the islands and the warmth of community this season.

This year's distribution will be at the The Blackbook Studio on 14 March 2026 from 5pm-7pm. Before collection, please reserve a bowl via Eventbrite. One reservation includes a bowl of bubur ikan tenggiri and bubur sum sum.

Since we started this initiative in 2021, there have been many kind folks who have supported us through monetary donations. All proceeds will go to this initiative, such as purchasing of ingredients.
