Relax in the comfortable surroundings of B&B Italia's exclusive dining area nestled in the centre of South Kensington as we explore the art of matching high-quality, sustainable caviar with a selection of distinguished wines.
Caviar featured
Beyond the pleasure of tasting, we aim to provide you with insights into the sustainable practices involved in farming caviar. You will also learn the proper way to enjoy caviar, from the tools to use, to the ideal serving temperature, and how to savor its delicate texture and flavor.
You will be tasting:
- Imperial Caviar - Imperial formerly reserved for the palace of the Shah of Persia, weighs around 30 kilos, it nurtures larger firmer eggs with a renowned dark golden roe and creamy sumptuous taste leaving a lingering fabulous hazel nutty flavor. Some experts believe this is caviar from a mature Caraburun Sturgeon.
- Russian Sturgeon - Oscietra or also commonly known as Ossetra caviar is of a very high grade and is harvested from the Siberian sturgeon. Each egg is of a medium size and dark grey in color. They are firm and flavorsome, with a slightly nutty after-taste. Serve on a blini with a small dash of creme fraiche or stuff a little spoonful into a quail egg, to make simple but impressive canapes.
- Acipencer Baeerii – Royal Siberian Caviar, sometimes called baerii caviar, is produced by Siberian sturgeon (acipenser baerii). Siberian is a fine-grained caviar recognized for its pure, elegant flavor and exquisite length which is both fine and clear. Colors range from black/grey all the way to black/brown tones with a light but salty finish.
