About Special Tango Performances julianne & Mete:
Julianne fell for tango and never looked back. With a background in colorful variety of professional movement and musical modalities, she began at her universities tango club and went on to study with local and international maestros alike. Blending fundamental techniques with a playful, open-hearted approach she has taught workshops, guest performed at nationwide festivals and shows, and is an active part of the Tango Colorado's Board of Directors along with her own work in JMTango. Her teaching balances clarity, connection, and the composition of adaptability so dancers can thrive on any floor, anywhere, with anyone. She starts her foundations with the understanding that tango is a conversation: the better you listen, the more fun you have.
Mete Saka(partner for this show)
Mete started dancing tango at Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey. His student activity soon became his passion which led him to take incalculable classes from local and international tango maestros.
Together with his passion to teach, Mete started instructing tango to students in his college in 2017 and ran the student organization for four years where he had shared his tango experience to more than 150 students. Additionally, he was invited to DJ for more than 20 tango events, was part of a team that organized 5 major festivals and tango concerts, many milongas and worked as an assistant in the largest tango school in Istanbul for two years.
He defines his greatest achievement in tango is to be creating and pioneering the university milonga scene in Istanbul, uniting universities’ tango societies in 2018, where more than 100 students gathered to enjoy tango, helping tango spread. These milongas are still organized regularly by several university societies in Istanbul.
