Bryan Gatten is a Duluth-based guitarist of a variety of styles, including rock, jazz and classical music. He plays solo around the Twin Ports performing his original music, as well as in duos and trios of varying genres. Each solo show features specially arranged songs from Gatten's locally produced albums as well as a heavy emphasis on improvisation, which ensures that every show is different, and suited to the unique space and audience present. "Improvisation has always been at the heart of what I do," Gatten explains. "It's an important element of what live music performance is all about for me, and as a solo performer, it allows me to adjust to the situation and let the music flow naturally."
