CVGBs returns from winter hiatus for a night of original music headlined by Bry (Bryan) Webb, founder/singer/songwriter/leader of Guelph/Toronto’s legendary Constantines (Sub Pop Records).
Co-headliner is Montreal’s Cots, who will perform on their own, as well as with Bry Webb.
Opening the show are two up and coming Cumberland acts Pink Plagues and Happy For You.

BRY WEBB
From Guelph/Toronto, Bry (Bryan) Webb is touring in support of his third solo album Run With Me (Idée Fix Records). Bry is the founder, singer, and leader of Toronto’s legendary art-punk band The Constantines, who made four important albums for Sub Pop and Arts and Crafts through the 2000s. The Constantines have been on and off hiatus since 2010, allowing Webb to explore more subdued musical terrain and tour solo and with his band the Providers. Bry is a Canadian treasure, and besides his work with the Constantines he has collaborated with Feist and the Weakerthans. We are thrilled to bring him to the Comox Valley!

COTS
Cots is the debut solo project by Montreal composer, singer, and guitarist Steph Yates. Borrowing elements of folk, bossa nova, jazz, and classical; Yates subtly unconventional composition style and poetics are brushed across her lush sonic palette. The sounds and images of Cots are familiar the way dreams and shadows are; there appear strange landscapes, the vague outlines of former lovers, a quiet queerness, the feeling of motion. Songs of closeness and aloneness.
