Join us Saturday AUG 16th for the uncommonly infectious sounds of @brutalismpgh with @yinzerinyinzburgh and @bedlamb0y. Join us as we wish 1/2 of BRUTALISM well as they journey off to Spain for the foreseeable future! Our own Rachel Ruckus, @yinzeryinzburgh is going off to school in Valencia! Let us give them the send-off they deserve. One that will sunder every sinew in your limbs!
Brutalism was created as a way to bring new post punk music to Pittsburgh in a time after the Pandemic where Pittsburgh was mostly a city of retro music nights. Rachel was very interested in new music coming from Eastern and Western Europe, and Eamon from the U.S. and U.K., so they combined their powers to create Team Brutalism! Now you have the night we have today! We had our humble beginnings at @belveresultradive on Thursdays, where we even had a brief stint with our off the wall 90’s Night, Mall Goth, which was a nod to our actual 90’s personas. Now we scooted our way up to Saturdays at @mixtape, and through this we met so many people along the way.
There’s no night quite like BRUTALISM in the city. A healthy blend of #newwave #goth #postpunk #synthpop #industrial and #darkwave We also feature unncany songs from russianpostpunk #frenchpostpunk #turkishgoth #swisscheesewave and others.
