Brushfire Stankgrass is a bona fide Asheville original bluegrass fusion group. The quartet, led by the Saylor brothers on banjo and guitar, delves deeper into the funk/rock/reggae spectrum than most bluegrass jambands do, while exemplifying the musicianship and authenticity of a band that was truly born out of both Asheville’s bluegrass scene and Asheville’s weird rock/jamband scene. Exciting live shows and cutting edge studio material is at the forefront of their musical product, and the band often enlists the help of guest performers from Asheville’s fertile and diverse music scene to add depth and color to their studio and live creations. The band has had the same lineup since 2013, and continues to write and release new music after over 20 years performing in the area. Some of their most notable streaming and live hits are Asheville area favorites like “Pretty Ass Blue Ridge Mountain Shit”, “Esther From Leicester”, and “North Carolina.” Where is it happening?
