Woodland BikeBridge Park | Vancouver, BC
About this Event
Join us for a good old-fashioned community painting party as we bring the Grandview-Woodland mural to life.
No experience needed. No prep required. Just come ready to pick up a brush.
What’s Happening
Over the past weeks, neighbours have shared stories, symbols, and visions for this mural. Those ideas have been gathered, reflected on, and translated into a final design.
Now, the outlines are drawn across the Woodland Bike Bridge — and we’re inviting the community to help fill them in.
Drop by anytime between 12–6pm.
Stay for 20 minutes or stay for a few hours.
Do I Need to Have Attended the Other Workshops?
Nope.
Whether you joined the reflection workshops or are just hearing about this now, you’re welcome. This is about showing up and making something together.
What to Expect
- Sections of the mural will be chalked and ready to paint
- Artist facilitators will guide you to different areas
- All supplies provided
- Music, movement, and neighbourly energy
This is less about perfection and more about participation.
Why It Matters
This mural was shaped by community stories. Now it will be painted by community hands.
Public art becomes powerful when the people who live with it help make it.
Come add your brushstroke.
Come meet your neighbours.
Come help colour the bridge.
About the Team
This project was initiated by artists Allison , Carol, and Emily, who came together to imagine a mural shaped directly by community voice.
They are joined by Serena, whose background in mixed methodologies and community data practices helps translate stories and visual contributions into themes that inform the mural design.
Dawson, a longtime neighbourhood connector, brings deep local knowledge and lived experience of Grandview-Woodland to the process.
Together, the team blends art, listening, research, and relationship-building to create a mural rooted in shared memory and collective imagination.
