Brush Works: The Portrait in Oils

Kyle Reidmiller, MFA brings Bottle Works a special topic, 4-week long crash course in the basics of painting the human head with oil paints. The class will focus on color mixing strategies, historic palettes, subject selection, and strategies for painting a human head in an alla prima or extended session setting.

Bottle Works is supplying the paint for this class from donations. You will need to bring the following:
A palette knife
A jar with a lid to hold paint thinner for cleaning brushes. Ideally with a metal wire at the bottom for brush cleaning.
A pad of Canvas paper.
A drawing pencil and eraser.
Ages 13 + Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
$100 or $95 for BW Members
Kyle Reidmiller is an award winning artist from Indiana, PA whose work has been shown in galleries across the region and published internationally. He’s taught classes for galleries, colleges, and art organizations and founded Bottle Work’s annual monthly figure drawing session.
