5:00pm: In this 1.5 hour lecture, Brownman will take you on a journey through the extraordinary career of the great Miles Davis' from his early years in St. Louis in the 40's dreaming about playing with Charlie Parker, right up to his death in 1991, with audio samples indicative of each the many times Miles' changed direction -- and had the world follow.

2) BROWNMAN ALI PLAYS MILES DAVIS -- 1944 to 1969
7:00pm: A special Victoria, BC permutation of the BROWNMAN AKOUSTIC 4-TET will take the stage, led by Brownman Ali on trumpet, who has handpicked tunes Miles made famous between 1944 and 1969. You'll hear samplings of Miles' tenure with Charlie Parker, tunes from his time on the Prestige label with the 1st Great Quintet, through to Kind of Blue, and onward into the 2nd Great Quintet. "We'd need a whole week to get through all the various incredible twists and turns of Miles' long career, so tonight we're just going to focus on this 20-ish year segment", states Ali.
