Ready to experience the ultimate grown and sexy evening out? Join us for Brown Sugar Burlesque on Sunday June 11 at Checker Hall in Highland Park!

A live cabaret experience featuring an all-star cast of Black burlesque artists, drag performers, musicians and guest bartenders! After the show, an all-RnB DJ set keeps the party going until the end of the night!

Our sold-out debut event was an absolute vibe - join us and get ready to feel the heat as we celebrate our community with an evening of RnB, burlesque and delicious cocktails you won't forget!

Step inside a beautiful 1920's Masonic Lodge and climb the unmistakable checkerboard stairs to discover Checker Hall, a luxurious hidden cocktail bar and restaurant with plentiful palm fronds, art deco vibes for days and a wide balcony overlooking the stars over Figueroa.

At 6:30pm, our evening begins with a cocktail hour starring our Guest Bartenders Rohana Khalifa and Paige Walwyn, featuring their bespoke cocktail creations and music curated by DJ Jéli.

At 8pm our show begins, hosted by drag performer Amber Crane, featuring live music by Delta Soul and performances by the hottest burlesque performers in Los Angeles including Jessabelle Thunder, Candace Cane, Onyx Nova, Egypt Black Knyle and more!

After the show, DJ Jéli takes over the vibes and will keep us dancing until the end of the night to the best in new R&B and the throwbacks we all know and love.

Brown Sugar Burlesque is a pop-up event that launched in Los Angeles during February 2023. Brown Sugar is a Black-owned and woman-led production.

COMPLETE PARTY EARLY ARRIVAL IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. PLEASE HELP US PREVENT SHOW DISRUPTIONS. ANY TABLE RESERVATIONS NOT CLAIMED BY 7:30 WILL BE RELEASED TO THE WAITLIST.
Ticket price is for entry to the event and show. This event has a 2 drink minimum for all guests. Beverage menu to include cocktails as well as non-alcoholic options for purchase. Full dinner menu also available for purchase.
Checker Hall is a cashless establishment. While you are free to tip the performers and bartenders in cash, the bar will not be able to make change for you.
The entrance to the venue is up a single flight of stairs. There is an ADA elevator available.
There is no valet at Checker Hall. Parking is plentiful in metered city lots in the surrounding area, as well as on Figueroa. Consider ridesharing. The Gold Line is also very close and convenient (Highland Park Station).
