Also, if you have any insect allergies or health concerns, please notify me, and bring your EpiPen. We will have a first aid kit with us.We will walk amongst some of our county's pioneers final resting places to glance into the mature tree canopy of Evergreen Cemetery. The address is 1300 SE 10th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
South Florida becomes an exciting place to bird starting in late July when shorebirds and songbirds from the Arctic Tundra, Great Plains and New England beaches make their migration south for their winter grounds. At Fort Lauderdale's oldest cemetery, the mature Live Oaks and Strangler Figs throughout the property provide an abundance of food and shelter for the bird species that feed on them. The waterway along the east of the property also has a rare coastal ridge cliff where we can check out water birds and look out for water thrushes. Expect to be out from 8am to 10am.
What to bring:
At least 16 oz. of water and/or Gatorade.
Wear light weight sun protected clothing and a hat.
Comfortable walking shoes
