MAYGEN & THE BIRDWATCHER weave a rich tapestry of Americana, blending folk and country with an eclectic twist. Their latest offering, Leap Year (released Aug 2), invites listeners into a contemplative journey inspired by the celestial themes of 2024, reflecting their unique blend of instrumentation and vocals.
Singer/songwriter partners Maygen Lacey and Noah Neumann began as a duo and quickly realized their sonic vision needed more. At the heart of their sound is a collective of talented musicians. Multi-instrumentalist Nik Pellinen adds depth with his banjo, lap steel, electric guitar, and harmonies while Jesse Moravec brings a vibrant touch with mandolin and harmonies. Fiddle player Evin Haukos and drummer-percussionist Peter Anderson round out the ensemble, crafting a fresh take on bluegrass-infused folk.
With a sound that’s both familiar and innovative, Maygen & The Birdwatcher have garnered accolades like "Album of the Year," "Americana Artist of the Year," and "Entertainer of the Year" through the Midwest Country Music Organization, and have had their songs featured in Spotify's Indie Bluegrass and New Grass playlists, Minnesota Monthly, 89.3 The Current, and many others. They have toured the country and shared stages with the likes of Sierra Ferrell, Old Crow Medicine Show, Grace Potter, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Indigo Girls, Yonder Mountain String Band, Molly Tuttle, Lindsey Lou, The Last Revel and more. Maygen & The Birdwatcher create a hyphenated hybrid that captivates and inspires. As they've continued to evolve, they leave fans eager for more of their original, heartfelt music.

HUMBLETOWN formed in the humble prairie town of Vermillion, South Dakota and has emerged as a powerful multi-genre bluegrass-inspired ensemble. Now based out of the Black Hills, the band is inspired by the quiet beauty of pine-filled forests, with original songs inspired by their home and travels, intricately performed on clawhammer banjo, flatpick guitar, and upright bass. With music that combines influences of bluegrass, old time, hot club swing, Americana, and classic country, Humbletown will take you on a musical journey that stretches across time and space.
Their 2022 debut album “The Path I Chose to Walk” received international acclaim. Americana UK’s review described the album: “The first impression on listening to these songs around virtuosos on clawhammer banjo and flat-picking guitar is that this entire collection must have been something discovered nearly a century ago by the great ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax.” Their album’s title track video “Vines” was premiered by Bluegrass Situation and Americana Highways described their album as “A little old-time country, folk & bluegrass. The musicianship is stellar, with fingerpicking on acoustic guitar & banjo. The mix of male & female vocals balances the material impressively.”
Humbletown has toured nationally and regionally and has shared the stage with such acts as Wood Belly, Charlie Parr, Damn Tall Buildings, Reverend Payton's Big Damn Band, Songs from the Road Band, and many more.
