About the book
Already a national bestseller in the United Kingdom, brother. do. you. love. me. is the story of two brothers, one with Down syndrome, and their extraordinary journey of resilience and repair. Living in a group home during the pandemic, Reuben hadn’t spoken for over a year. Increasingly isolated and cut off from those he loved, he sent a text message to his brother, Manni, that read: brother. do. you. love. me.
When Manni received this desperate message from his youngest brother, he knew everything had to change. He immediately left his life in Spain and moved with Reuben into an old farm cottage. In the stillness of winter, they began a moving journey of repair. Combining Manni’s tender words with Reuben’s powerful illustrations, their story of hope and resilience questions how we care for those we love, and demands that, through troubled times, we learn how to take better care of each other.
