About this Event
Brother Cane

Brother Cane is an American rock band originally from Birmingham, Alabama. Formed by singer/guitarist Damon Johnson and bassist Glenn Maxey in 1991, the group released three studio albums, several charting several singles including three number 1’s and five top 10 hits.

Brother Cane found immediate success with the release of its self-titled debut album in
July 1993 which delivered three singles: "Got No Shame", “That Don’t Satisfy Me”, and “Hard Act To Follow.” “Got No Shame” reached #1 on the Mainstream Rock charts and garnered the band U.S. tours with Aerosmith, Robert Plant and Lynyrd Skynyrd. The band's next album, Seeds (1995), yielded another #1 Rock track, the haunting and swampy, “And Fools Shine On.” This hit led to a lengthy and successful tour in support of the mighty, Van Halen. Three years later saw the release

of, Wishpool (1998) and Brother Cane’s third #1 song at Rock Radio, “I Lie In The Bed I Make”. However, after major personnel changes at Virgin Records, the bands label, as well as a major shift in style at rock and alt radio formats, the band laid down their instruments and called it a day in 2000.

Over the next 20 years Johnson went on to become one of the most sought after guitarists and song writers in rock. Touring extensively with rock icons like Alice Cooper and Thin Lizzy and co-writing tracks with the likes of Sammy Hager, Stevie Nicks, Carlos Santana and Steven Tyler, Johnsons profile steadily rose.
2019 found Johnson recording with producer, Nick Raskulinecz, (Foo Fighters, Korn, Rush, etc.) and releasing the critically acclaimed debut from Damon Johnson & The Get Ready, 2020’s “Battle Lessons.” It was while supporting that record in 2021 that he received the call that any guitarist that grew up in the south could only dream of: filling in for Gary Rossington in the legendary, Lynyrd Skynyrd! It was while touring with Skynyrd that Johnson was pleasantly surprised on how many fans not only remembered Brother Cane, but shared their stories on how much the band and those songs meant to them. “Will you ever get back together? Would you ever tour again? Please!!??” Those are big questions, and they deserved a big answer, “Hell Yes!”

Brother Cane will be performing select dates in 2022 with plans for new music and full tour in 2023! “I’m just over the moon about this!” says, Johnson. “Brother Cane
fans are some of the most passionate that I’ve encountered in all of my travels.” He add’s, “I love all of these songs and the guys and I cannot wait to get back out there and share them with the amazing fans and friends of Brother Cane. Lets Go!”

John Corabi

Journeyman vocalist John Corabi had already been cutting his teeth in the hard rock world for nearly a decade when he landed the high-profile gig of replacing Mötley Crüe front man Vince Neil in 1992. Although his tenure with the group proved to be a brief one, Corabi earned a reputation as a go-to front man and collaborator, amassing a solid résumé as a singer and guitarist with acts like The Scream, The Eric Singer Project (ESP), Union, and The Dead Daisies. Born on April 26, 1959, in Philadelphia, Corabi, like many musicians from his generation, was drawn into music by seeing The Beatles on television as a child. After graduating high school, Corabi worked various odd jobs while singing lead for his band, Angora. A visit to Los Angeles during the height of the ’80’smetal scene convinced him to relocate there in 1986, and soon Angora had joined him. The band managed to attract a following but, aside from some interest from Gene Simmons, internal dissension wrecked the group before it could land a recording deal. With guitarist Bruce Bouillet and bass player Juan Alderete, both from the recently defunct Racer X, Corabi formed The Scream in 1989. They released Let It Scream through Hollywood Records two years later and managed to garner airplay on rock radio with the track “Man in the Moon.” In early 1992, Corabi accepted an invitation to replace the fired Vince Neil in the platinum selling Mötley Crüe. With Corabi on vocals, Mötley Crüe released the eagerly awaited follow-up to their career-making Dr. Feelgood; however, in the wake of grunge and with Corabi not embraced by the band’s faithful, Mötley Crüe was an unmitigated bust despite a Top Ten placement on the album charts. When Neil returned to the fold, Corabi was left on his own and formed the band Union with ex-Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick. Although not a major commercial success, the pedigrees of the band’s members ensured a following in the hard rock world, and their self-titled 1998 release did well with its limited audience. Corabi would unite with drummer Eric Singer (Kiss) and guitarist Karl Cochran (Kiss, Ace Frehley) to release an eponymous album under the moniker ESP in 1999 and would also tour with an incarnation of Ratt in the following years
