September 7 – Broom Making Class
Cobweb brooms are one of the most beautiful, bewitching, and functional brooms there is. They are made from broomcorn, also called sorghum. Cobweb brooms allow you to reach up high or way down low to remove the pesky cobwebs that seem to crop up whenever your back is turned. Their narrow shape allows you to get into corners and hard to reach places. In this class, you’ll learn how to attach whole broomcorn to your broomstick. You’ll also learn how to stitch your cobweb broom. You’ll leave class with a beautiful cobweb broom and the basic skills needed to make pot scrubbers as well.
Your instructors are Sandi and Julia. They are both docents at Heritage Village Museum with a lot of experience making brooms, both at the Village and at events. We hope you join us for the workshop! Learn how to make a Cobweb Broom and a Pot Scrubber Broom. Materials provided. Class is from 10am to noon.
Non-members: $50 Members: $40
*There are only 10 spots available in this class
