About this Event
Overview
Brooklyn Lives! is a launch and fundraising gathering celebrating Create Humanity’s Art for Palestine 3D Digital Exhibit (Palestine Lives!) and Patterns of Return Poetry Anthology. These projects were co-created by artists and creatives from around the world, who submitted their work in honor of Palestine and its people.
This evening brings together poetry, music, visual art, and conversation as forms of connection, care, and collective expression. Through live readings, performances, a projected digital exhibit, panel conversation, and a live auction, we create space for storytelling as both cultural memory and present-day community building.
The anthology will be available for purchase, alongside opportunities to directly support participating artists and initiatives!
Featuring
Live poetry readings from anthology contributors
Musical performances
Visual art + projected 3D digital exhibit
Panel on creativity, community, and global solidarity
Live auction (artworks + special offerings)
Community gathering + shared storytelling space
This event also serves as a fundraiser, with proceeds from ticket sales, artwork purchases, and the anthology directly supporting art therapy and education, artists in Gaza, and the continued development of community-centered programming.
Artists, poets, and speakers to be announced.
Context & Language
This event uses phrases like “From the River to the Sea” and “From the River to NYC” to reflect a belief in interconnected struggles for justice and collective liberation.
For us, this language is rooted in a commitment to human dignity, freedom, and care for all people. “From the River to NYC” extends this idea - connecting global movements to local community, and inviting reflection on how these struggles resonate across place and practice.
We recognize that language carries layered meanings, and we approach its use here with intention, openness, and a focus on shared humanity.
