Bronze Life Skills

This course is designed to follow on from our Puppy Life Skills course or as a recommendation after attending a 1:1 session with us. If you are struggling with a behaviour problem please contact us as we may advise a 1-1 before or instead of attending a group class.

Please note - If you haven't been through our Puppy Life Skills Course or attended a 1:1 with us and been recommended to join this course you will be required to do at least a 1 hour 1:1 assessment to make sure the class will be suitable for you. During this 6 week consecutive course* we will be looking at those everyday skills that make walks enjoyable. Loose lead walking, recall and attention around distractions. We introduce a new, fun and practical trick, as well as promoting some chilled exercises you can do at home and on walks. Most of all we want you and your dog leaving having had a great time with each other in a field full of other dogs and people.

We have a very large enclosed private field for our training sessions. We maintain distances from each working team. Hand washing and sanitiser is available on site.

Please note: There will be no class on Saturday the 19th October. The final class in this 6 week course will be the 9th November.

The course is 6 consecutive weeks, unless planned breaks are stated above.

Parking charges.

The country park charges for parking. If you are a local and plan regular visits the yearly pass may be a good option for you. Here are more details as they have recently updated their system and no longer take cash.

Where to go

We are located in the Toplands car park in River Hamble country park / Manor Farm. As you enter the country park you will drive through the wooded area and pass an activity centre on your left, keep going, up the hill and past the Barnfield car park park the next turning on your left will be Toplands. We are at the end of the car park past the public dog walking area.

What to bring

Please bring you dog along on a short lead and preferably a harness. If you have a long training line please also bring this along with you. Here is a link if you wish to purchase one, we highly recommend these to allow your puppy/dog a little freedom whilst you build confidence and whilst teaching a recall. They are available in 5m and a lightweight line for those tiny paws :)

(avoid purchasing the10m training line as we find these a hazard)

Lots of soft & tiny treats. Cut these up as small as you can get them, think 1/4 pea. Bring more than you think you will need and be sure to reduce their dinner appropriately when training.

A toy. Where possible to a toy that squeaks as this usually means you go home with all the other puppies :) Long soft toys that you can trail along the floor are great games for puppies and teach them lots of polite behaviours such as keep paws on the floor and sharp teeth away from hands.

A mat/bed. Vet bedding is great because it rolls up nicely but what ever you have will do :)

Poo bags.

By Signing up to working with Goodall Dog Training you agree to the following;

You will bring your dog to training sessions on a flat collar or body harness and fixed lead. choke/check chains, shock/spray collars and flexi leads are not permitted during training sessions.

The training you’ll be shown is motivational, reward based and force free. No aversive measures or harsh treatment will be tolerated and you will be expected to use food and toy rewards.

Whilst every care is taken, Goodall Dog Training cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to persons, property or dogs during training sessions.

We keep all your personal details private and do not share information.

T&C’s Once booked you are committing to 6 consecutive weeks of training, unless discussed before booking is made or dates are mentioned above. Missed sessions are non transferrable. Refunds are an option up to 7 days before your start date, if we can fill your space after this date we will also look to issue a refund but this is not always possible.

Please notify us if you are unable to make a session with as much notice as possible. Thanks
