Discover the metal that changed the world and craft your own bronze sword, axehead, knife, or torc. Under the personal tutelage of master archaeo-bronzesmith James Clift, you’ll choose a design from real archaeology and learn the Bronze Age technique of casting molten metal in sand. Running throughout the year.
Get personal attention with only two participants per workshop (up to four if you’re all one party)
⚔️ Choose an item to craft from a range of designs based on real UK & European archaeology
⌛ Learn how to make and use a sand mould from a pattern
🔥 Discover the alchemy of metalwork and melt bronze in a furnace
☀️ Set in the unique surroundings of Butser Ancient Farm’s historic buildings
